Beche Road

History of Beche Road

This road is named after the wealthy and distinguished soldier, Everard de Beche. It was he who aided the fifth prior of Barnwell to finish the building of the church of St Andrew. This is the same Everard (d 1175) after whom Papworth Everard is named.
