Bernard Frederick West Matthews: Pilot Officer, 62004, 18 Sqdn., Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve, who died on Tuesday 12 August 1941. Age 25. Commemorated on RUNNYMEDE MEMORIAL Surrey, United Kingdom. Son of George Henry and Sophia Ann Matthews, of Cambridge.

Bristol Blenheim

He was flying a Blenheim Iv which flew Into Ht cables near the Dutch coast and crashed Into the North Sea when outbound on a raid on the Cologne-Knapsack Power Station.
