Sydney, son of Wilfred Blows, enlisted at Kirby Lonsdale, Westmoreland and became a Lance Corporal, 14905, in the 7th Battalion, Border Regiment. He is commemorated on the Menin Memorial

Blows in loving memory of Sydney Herbert Blows 7th Border Regiment, who was killed near Ypres, December 16th, 1915, and buried on Menin road.

And so for me there is no sting in death
