History of 36 & 37 City Road

These premises had once been a pub called The Flowerpot.

F R leach started his business here in 1850 and at one time had 60 painters here who worked all over the country.

F R Leach Son Ltd went into voluntary liquidation

After the firm broke up Barnet Leach continued at 36 City Road, Frederick at 27 City Road and Walter at 18 King’s Parade and at Caroline Place.
