1 Boxworth End, Swavesey

History of 1 Boxworth End

David George Crouch’s reminiscences of living in Swavesey are in ‘Memory Lane’ (2004) Swavesey History Society.

He recalls that his father was born at this address. It was originally two cottages when his grandparents lived there but he could only remember one family occupying the whole building.

His grandparents William and Mary Ann Mole had six children. His father George Thomas was born in 1898. William was a horsekeeper and worked for Thomas Prior, a farmer, who lived opposite at 10 Boxworth End.
