The Great Whyte, Ramsey

History of The Great Whyte

The Bury Brook ran down the middle of Ramsey with a road on either side. The stream was covered over and now runs in a tunnel. The clock on the Great Whyte was once powered by the water flowing underneath. It was converted to electricity in 1920.
