Head of household is Lantaff Dellar, he is 61 years old and is a labourer at the gas works. Lantaff married Eliza Reynolds in 1852. She died in October 1882 and he has moved here with his family from 4 Staffordshire Street where they lived for over twenty years.
The Enumerator has made a mistake on their entry and has recorded Lantaff’s daughter Eliza as ‘wife’ and also ‘single’. Daughter Eliza is 32 and has no occupation recorded, so was probably looking after the house for her father and the family.
Younger daughter Anne is 17 and a domestic servant. Lantaff’s granddaughter Elizabeth also lives with them. She is 8 and goes to school, she was born in London.
Eliza marries John King in 1893, he is a widower living at 33 York Street. Lantaff died in 1896 and by the time of the 1901 Census, his granddaughter Elizabeth is living with John and Eliza at number 33.
