Before 1929 the land here was an allotment owned by the <aster and Fellows of Gonville and Caius College, Cambridge.
In 1929 the college sold the land to Leslie Reginald Cole for £260. The property was named “Crosslands” at this time and permission had been granted to build a private dwelling house on the site with a value of at least £1,200.
