In 1901 the Looker family were at 96 Victoria Road

Arthur Donald Looker was killed in action 8/10/1918 while serving as a 2nd Lieut. in the Suffolk Regiment. He had entered the Suffolk Regiment in 1916. In 1917 he was nominated for service in the Royal Flying Corps. He had a secret marriage to Nancy on Christmas Day 1917 which was not approved of by his parents. He returned to the Suffolks because of ill health.By August 1918 he was at the front with the 15th Essex. His dugout was hit by a shell and he died on the way to the dressing station.

His letters to his parents from France were published in a book which is held in the Library at the University of Leeds. His memorial is a tablet at the Wesleyan Methodist Church, Cambridge.
