John Dix Godden, b 1931

John Dix Godden (1931 – 2011). John attended Cambridge High School for Boys and was a member of the Boy Scouts. He sat his School Certificate in 1947 and went on to study a the School of Navigation at Warsash near Southampton.

John became a professional marine pilot and in 1965 was accepted as a “Cinque Ports” pilot. He ended his professional life as the editor of The Pilot.
