Jeffrey C Barham was the husband of Jane Barham who wrote Backstairs Cambridge in 1986, a collection of stories about members of her family in Cambridge. She describes how her husband lived most of his childhood in a high house in Victoria Road. During WWII they had a couple of evacuees from London living with them. After the war they continued to let two rooms to students. they generally came from Queen’s College.
