Burwell House was built buy Salisbury Dunn circa 1878 and extended in Victorian times by Edward Ball, MP. It was purchased by Cambridgeshire County Council in 1964.
Salisbury Dunn was born circa 1753 in Isleham. He married Ann Riste (b 1763) on 1st March 1786 in Isleham.
They had 12 children. Of these:
Sarah Dunn b 1791 married Charles Finch 26 Dec. 1809, Burwell Parish Church.
Ann Dunn, b July 1795 married Edward Ball, 1816, St Mary’s Church Burwell
Susannah Dunn married James Nutter 11 May 1815, Burwell Parish church.
Caroline Dunn, b bef. 1803, married George Hemington Harris of Trumpington, 3 May 1825 Burwell Parish Church.
