Sidney Taylor Hall, Dullingham

History of Taylor Hall

My memories of village dances started in the early post-war years when a regular Saturday and bank holiday evening hop was held in the Taylor Hall in Dullingham, two and half miles from Wood Ditton. The hall stood at the end of a short lane leading to the church and was lit by large oil lamps hanging by chains from the roof. This popular event started at seven o’clock with the arrival of the band in Arthur Coe’s big black Austin Twenty taxi.
