Littleport, Washington’s Motor Bus c.1922

City Road, Littleport

History of City Road

William Washington set up as a carrier in City Road in 1842. He would travel to and from Ely at least once every day.

His grandson, Bert, succeeded to the business in 1922 and bought a motor bus known as ‘Old Grey’, supposedly the fist bus in the areas with pneumatic tyres.
