54 High Street, Sutton

History of 54 High Street Sutton

On left of photo is C B Darby butchers, no.54. Up until WWII there were four butchers shops in the village, Clark, Darby, Linford and Swayer. Because of the shortage of meat, two shops, Sawyer and Linford, closed.
