Hammer and Anvil, High Street, Sutton

History of the Hammer and Anvil

According ‘As Time Goes By,, the Sutton Feast Committee (2005), the photo shows Joey Hinson’s general shop and next door the Hammer and Anvil pub. The shop was open from 1890s to 1910s. The pub appears to have been demolished at some time.
