History of 20 Cambridge Street

1929

The lady in the photo is Dorothy ‘Dolly’ Alban nee Thompson b.1895. The children are three of the five children of Frank and Dolly Alban. The smallest child in the middle is Betty b.1927, the boy is Richard ‘Dick’ b.1926 and the older girl is Joan b,1923. Dolly and Frank went on to have two further children, June b.1929 and Michael b.1934.

By the time of the 1939 register the Alban family had moved a few doors down the road to number 24 Cambridge Street. (research by David Gent)
