75 Barton Road, Toll Bar

History of 75 Barton Road

Built 1911

C Forster Cooper, superintendent of the Museum of Zoology

John Lennox Cook bought 75 Barton Road. At the time it was divided into two flats.

He left the Bell School to set up his own language school.

In 1982 he was a writer; two joint principals, Peter Bingley and Denis Swallow, ran the language school. Amongst their students they have included Agnacio Carron, the Spanish journalist.
