In 1955 Mr and Mrs A Howat (with their 2 sons) bought 13 Emery Street. He worked for the Cambridge Daily News as a lithographer. When he moved to the Kentish Times in Sidcup, they rented out the property. 1963 – 1968 their youngest son lived there while working for the Eastern Counties Omnibus Company. They sold it in 1974. They were very fond of it and described it as a cosy and sunny place.
