1906

CIP 5.10.1906: INEFFICIENT. Ernest William Hardy, a painter, of 89 Gwydir Street, summoned for not being efficient under the Volunteer Regulations and failing to earn the Government Grant of 35s for the year ending October 31st, 1905. Witness was Segeant Major Calvesbert of the 3rd (Cambs) V.B. Suffolk Regiment. He was ordered to pay plus costs.


1907

CIP 19.7.1907: Smashed his father’s windows: Walter Robert Hardy, 29, bricklayer, charged with breaking his father’s windows to the extent of 3s. He had come home worse for drink.  He pleaded guilty and expressed contrition. He was fine 10s including the damage and costs.

CIP 11.10.1907: Young Lads in Trouble. Various teenage boys including Harry Hardy aged 16 of 89 Gwydir Street were summoned for committing a disorderly act in Ainsworth Street. PC Dilley saw boys playing leap-frog and shouting in the street. Mrs Catherine Flood asked the boys to go away as her husband could not sleep but they made a “laughing stock” of her. Boys were convicted and discharged.
