See Francis Garrett, Cottenham Ablaze:

8.4.1898: it was at 10 in the morning that Havelock Clarke (baker) noticed two cottages at the end of his garden alight. The cottages destroyed were owned by Mrs Jame Banks, the tenants bing Messrs Bull and Hewitt.
