History of 20 Fowlmere Road

Cottage. c.1600 for Thomas Sympton, much altered 1780 and again mid-late C.20.

According to Don Challis, Schooldays in Foxton, this was the home of Billy Chamberlain who had lost a leg in World War One. He ran a general stores from his front room. On Saturday mornings he would load his bicycle with baskets front and back and travel round the village.
