Meldreth hoard

History of the Meldreth hoard

In 1880 a hoard of 60 broken late Bronze age (2700 BC to 8th century BC) metal items was discovered by workmen near Meldreth station. It is likely that the items were going to be melted down. The hoard is now held by the British Museum.
