In the 1930s – 1950s this was the HQ of the 23rd Cambridge St Matthew’s Scouts.


MM sent a note in 2025:

I was a member of the cubs and scouts in the late 50s and 60s We were still meeting there in 1964. There was a cub pack, a scout troop and a senior scouts section. There were two main rooms and a snooker room. There was also a judo club that met there and the largest room had a judo mat.
