Head of household is Benjamin Gage, a 40-year-old bricklayer who was born in Plymouth, Devon. He is married to Frances(nee Brignell) and they have a 13-year-old daughter who is also named Frances. The family has moved from 116 Sturton Street.
The couple have two other daughters, 10-year-old Ellen and a 2-year-old who was been recorded on the census as “Francis M. Gage”. However, this is the male spelling, and they already have a daughter called “Frances M”.
The 1911 Census solves this mystery. The daughter is actually named Florence May and she is now 12. There’s a new mystery now, daughter Ellen is on this census as “Johanna”, a 19-year-old domestic servant.
Benjamin and Frances now have a son who they have named as Benjamin junior. He’s eight.
Electoral registers show Benjamin Gage living at 10 Stone Street until at least 1915.
