7 East Road, Cambridge
History of 7 East Road
28 October 1910
The National Telephone Company sought to recover rent for a telephone installed at the premises of Herbert Quinsee cycle and motor engineer, East Road. Quinsee said he’d wanted to be cut off immediately it was installed in 1909. It had been fixed in his workshop, whereas he’d asked for it in the showroom. The company said they would put on extra bells, which he would have to pay for. He could not take the apparatus down because it was not his property but as it was not removed people rang him up.
