1861 census Cambridge, 22 New Square: Thomas Colbourne, 57, excise officer, b Middlesex; E Colbourne, wife, 58, b Middlesex; John Colbourne, 23, commercial clerk, b Bethnal Green.

Harold G Fuller-Rowell

Harold was a college servant. The family moved by 1965 to 9 Malcolm Street.

In 1939 Harold was living at 9 Jesus Terrace.

In 2025 CR wrote:

My grandfather Harold Fuller-Rowell was head porter at Jesus for many years, stepping down in later years but carried on after retirement, being a bit of a Jeeves, I think. His son, Lewis John of 12 New Square and 3 Eden St before, worked many years in the bursary. My great grandfather was an alumnus of St John’s; he grew up in Jesus Lane and his father was a chef at Jesus (mid 19th century). Great grandfather was Leslie; he was a master at Derby school; then a public school now comprehensive but there is still a house named after him. His story is very interesting by the way.
