William Clark had enlisted in 1903 and joined the Royal Field Artillery. In 1901 he was living in New Street as a hawker.
His WWI medical record shows that he was discharged 23.12.1914 because of ‘neurasthenia affecting a weakened nervous system due to an old head injury.’ He had fractured his skull in Cardiff some years before.
