80 High Street Linton, Race Horse Inn (date unknown)

80 High Street, Linton

History of the Race Horse Inn

In 1913 W M Palmer wrote in The antiquities of Linton, On the side of Chandlers hung two massive firehooks used for pulling the thatch of burning buildings. They were photographed standing alongside the Race Horse Inn, almost opposite, whose eaves have rings into which the hooks would have been inserted.
