The Chequers, Rampton

History of the Chequers

Rampton, OS 1901

There is clearly a public house in the photo and if this is indeed Rampton, there was only one other public house, The Chequers, which opened in 1765 but closed in 1917. There appears to be no sign of The Chequers in the 21st century.

In 1842 the pub was sold as part of the Nutter sale of property.
