History of Bowl Barrows, Balsham

Scheduled Monument

Historic England entry refers to four barrows. They date from the Bronze Age although one was reused during the Roman period. They were first excavated in 1848 and are referred to in Cyril Fox’s The Archaeology of the Cambridge Region p.34. Cinerary urns were found.
