The pub closed in 1915. The grandfather clock belonged to Harry Pluck. It was made by Fletcher and Hitzman. Samuel Fletcher was based in Sidney Street around the 1830s and Joseph Hitzman lived at 21 Rose Crescent between 1847 and 1867.
