Cottages that lay south of The Bell and north of Bell Farm. Between 1861 and 1901 all the houses between the Crown and the Bell were demolished.
These are the cottages that were the subject of archaeological investigation 2015-2015.
The conclusion of the report notes that these cottages are examples of low-status often poorly built, 19th century housing. The dig was a rare example to match archaeological work with detailed local history research throwing light on an often neglected sector of society.

Nos 27 & 29 last occupied. Pearson family moved out of no.27 shortly before demolition.
The last residents of no.29 were Michael and and Lottie Clarke and son Michael.
They were demolished to make way for the widening of the Great North Road. Land became part of 25 Great North Road.
No.31 was demolished by 1960.
