Sarah Tredgett moved here around 1886 from 312 Histon Road, after her husband had left her and their family and gone to New Zealand. The family business remained at 31 Market Hill.

Scotsdale Laundry: Miss Kate Wade proprietress
The Scotsdale Nursery (301) had been run by three spinsters who used Tredgett’s glasshouses as washhouses.
1946
Scotsdale Laundry bought by Dudley Turvill for his younger brother Ronald to manage when he was demobilised from the Commandos in 1946.
1951
Scotsdale Laundry amalgamated with Swiss Laundry in Cherry Hinton Road.
1958
Scotsdale Laundry bought for £2,000 by Swiss Laundry.

1981
Scotsdale Laundry operation moved to Cherry Hinton Road. Laundry building became a furniture showroom for John’s, a firm in Bridge Street.
