James A Roberts, a 40 year old railway clerk who was born in the Lanes, Manchester, lives here with his 16 year old daughter Charlotte and 7 year old daughter Sarah. James is a widower and Charlotte is keeping house for her father. Charlotte was born in London and Sarah in Woodstow, Huntingdonshire.
In 1891, 43 Kingston Street was home to Sarah Swann, a 71 year old Widow from Essex, living ‘on her own means.’
In 1901, 43 Kingston Street is home to the Tozer family. Alice Tozer, aged 35, is married to Jack Tozer, a 37 year old Coal Agent from Bury St Edmunds. They have four children: Ethel, aged 12; ‘A.R.’, aged 10; Alan, aged 7; and Edward, aged 4.
In 1891, 43 Kingston Street is home to Priscilla Smith, a 30 year old from Hitchin. She is married to William Smith, a 25 year old coach motor painter from Faversham in Kent; and they have a newborn son, also called William, who was born in Redhill, Surrey, and so they have moved here very recently.
