1898 CIP 7.10.1898: Compensation Paid: At the sitting of the Borough Court Wednesday week, John Seabrooke and George John Seabrooke, father and son, residing at 27, Gwydir-street, were ordered to pay £1 compensation and 18s. costs within a week, for assaulting Walter Newman.— The elder defendant appeared at the Borough Police Court Wednesday, and said they had been able to find 30s. of the money, and asked for a further adjournment of a fortnight for the payment of the other 8s. The Bench decided to give £1 to Newman at once, as compensation and granted the fortnight’s extension for the payment of the other 8s.

CIP 4.7.1913: Cricket in the street: Frederick Staden, 17, of 27 Gwydir Street, errand boy, and Harry Pointer, 12, of 92 Gwydir Street were summoned for committing a disorderly act. Mrs Whiffen of the Lodge Little Shelford was hit in the eye by a ball. Older boy given caution.
CIP 15.8.1913: Frederick Staton (16) of 27 Gwydir Street, a porter in employ of Mr Butler, was witness in the case of Joh Newman (48) labourer of 24 Staffordshire Gardens, Staffordshire Street, charged with stealing 8s 6d from Henry Nunn of 108 Sturton Street.
