12 Barton Road, Pates Farmhouse, Haslingfield

History of Pates farmhouse

Listed building:

Cottage. C16 origins, altered and added to C17. Timber-framed, plaster rendered and reed thatched.

There is an open hall and originally no first floor. The pond may have been part of a moat. The centre was deep enough for a cart to be soaked to prevent the wood splitting.
