West Thatch, 48 West Green, Barrington

History of 48 West Green, Barrington

Listed building:

Cottage. c.1678. The bay to the west has been enlarged at the rear, C18. Timber framed, plaster rendered and long straw thatch, half-hipped.

Inside: Abutting inglenook hearths, one now blocked and the other with rebuilt brickwork but original lintel having the Hearth Tax receipts for approximately 1678 to 1682 fixed to it.
