St George, Thriplow

History of St George

Listed Building

Parish Church. Some reused C12 material; central tower, north and south transepts and chancel C13. Nave C15. South porch in 1742 (Cole) rebuilt with vestry in C19. Restoration by Sir Gilbert Scott in 1876.


There is guide to Thriplow church written by G O Vinter in 1951, revised and updated in March 2018 which contains an overview of the early history of the village as well as of the church.
