108 High Street, The Old Farm, Great Abington

History of The Old Farm

Listed Building:

House, formerly a farmhouse. C15 with mid C16 insertions and C17 addition. Timber-framed and plastered with exposed timber-frame in south gable.

According to Abington WI Scrapbook, 1958:

Kezia Lee, aged 83 (date unknown)

Kezia Lee lived in the Old Farm in Great Abington. I remember Miss Lee, a midwife. ‘A good old girl’ who brought all the babies into the world. the photo above was taken by Dr Palmer of Linton. Kezia Lee was in great demand if anyone was ill or in trouble in the village. She was loved and respected and was Dr Palmer’s ‘right hand’ in all cases of illness and emergency in the village.
