Birth of Florence Harben. In March 1981 she told the CWN:
My father was a hairdresser at the top of Norfolk Street [101 Norfolk Street]. He brought up 12 children – six lovely girls and six lovely boys – on a penny shave and 2d haircut.
Mrs Harben, whose husband was aNorfolk Street butcher, remembers; “We used to have a garden down Staffordshire Street where we used to kill our pigs.”
