Chapel of the Infirmary, Ely

History of the Chapel of the Infirmary

The chapel of the Infirmary originally extended by five bays the arcading and aisles of the Infirmary hall and had a two bay chancel at the east end. A C12 arch at the east end of Infirmary Lane marks the entrance to the chapel and part of the chancel arch survives on the west wall of the Deanery, with ornamented arch, nook shaft and shaft rings.
