Head of household in 1881 was James Porter, a 49 year old gardener who was born in Croydon, Cambridgeshire. He is married to Louisa Roseman (nee Sussum), 42, who works as a laundress.
The couple have three sons. Edward is 18 and works as a porter. On all other census documents he is “Ernest James Porter”, but is clearly Edward on this one.
Alfred Edward (13) and Frank William (12) are both school boys. Frank is Frederick on all other census returns.
By 1891 Edward (Ernest) is married and living in Cherry Hinton. Alfred is married, a postman and lives on Newmarket Road. James and Louisa have moved to 126 Sturton Street with Frank (Frederick).
