Ely Diocese records that there was a school in Coton in 1604.
1638 William Moulton reprimanded by Bishop for keeping a school, without a licence.
1783 schoolmistress teaching children
1818 school with 15 pupils
1825 only a Sunday School
1847 40 pupils in day school paid for by rector
1848 National School with teacher’s house opened on site donated by St Catharine’s College.
1870 site enlarged an new schoolroom completed.
1927 additional back room built.
