Corbett Street & John Corbitt, Cottenham

History of Corbett Street

1891 Corbett Street is still called Ivatt’s Lane in the census, but by the time of the electoral roll, it was known as Corbett’s Lane.

John Corbitt [sic] was a celebrated Baptist preacher whose family owned property in the street around the Waggon and Horses. He lived in the village between 1800 and 1830.
