1 – 4 Trumpington Road

History of Trumpington Road

In 1861 there were four house between Lensfield Road and Saxon Street that seem to have disappeared by 1871.

Ruth, 8, b Grantchester

Martha, 5, b Grantchester

Helen Gertrude, 9 mos, b Cambridge

Anne Kettle, 28, cook, b Bottisham

Emma Knighton, 19, housemaid, b Waterbeach

Eliza Muggleton, 18, nursemaid, b Quy

Anne Heffer, 15, under nursemaid, b Grantchester

In 1851 the Nutter family were at Grantchester Mill

In 1871 James Nutter was at Gold Street, Kettering Northants staying with his son in law, the Baptist minister John B Myers and his wife Agnes. James is described as ‘miller employing 8 men and 1 boy landowner.’

In 1881 James Nutter was at 2 Brookside, Beech House. This could be the same house, or it could have been a new house on a nearby site.
