A detail from a Victorian map showing the layout of buildings near the King’s Head Brewery and St. Giles’s Court.

St Giles’s Court, Castle Street 1888

St Giles Court, Castle Street

History of St Giles's Court

Watercolor drawing of a narrow, light-toned paved alleyway flanked by old dark houses with gabled roofs and tall chimneys.

Yard off Castle Street 1909 (MoC12:92:59)

This watercolour could possible be a along St Gile’s Court. The picture is described as a yard off Castle Street and the date and alignment of the buildings seems to fit, though there are one or two other possibilities.
