History of 13 Green Street

1784:

William Gallyon set up his gun making firm on the left corner of Gifford Place

1832:

The Gallyon family build a new house on the site of the old. The business was transferred soon afterwards to Bridge Street.

1841:

William Gallyon, 45, gun maker

1851:

William J Gallyon, 21, gunsmith, b Cambridge

1861:

John Hoppett, 59, college servant, b Trumpington
