History of 64 Jesus Lane

64 – 67 Jesus Lane was the original site of the Knight and Mortlock almshouses that were moved in 1880 to King Street.

Maria Leech, widow, 64, lodging house keeper

Maria A, 38, schoolmistress, b Scotland

John H, chemist, 30,  b Warwicks

Elizabeth S, 28, b Warwicks

Henry S, 20, schoolmaster, b Camberwell

Agnes Beaumont, 16, servant b Horningsea

[In 1901 Maria Leech was living at 31 Humberstone Road;

in 1881 the Leech family were at 6 Brunswick Walk]
