61 Regent Street, Cambridge

History of 61 Regent Street

1913 –

1937

Miss Barbara Fuller, dog breeder

Barbara Fuller’s dog shop, Regent Street — royal customer, 1 June 1937
The King of Egypt arrived in Cambridge on the first visit he has paid to the town. He had been expected at Clare College at about six o’clock but was late as he’d waited for His mother, the Queen, who’d booked a suite at the University Arms Hotel. The King strolled about Regent Street and visited Barbara Fuller’s dog shop where he purchased a wire fox terrier puppy which he played with in the college. Very few people knew of his visit which was to meet Egyptian students. About twenty were introduced to him, many being members of the Pharoahs Club. 37 06 01b
